Aultmore distillery, founded in 1896, lies to the north of Keith in Banffshire. The name is gaelic for "Great Burn", a reference to the Auchinderran burn which provides some of the distillery’s water. In its early years Aultmore produced sporadically although it has long been classed as a top blending malt.
